Marthe, 14 years old
The funds collected for Wilson were used to the benefit of Marthe, who came to the Centre with a serious heart defect. She was successfully operated on 17 July 2015. Dr. Charles Mvondo and his team were able to fix her mitral and aortic insufficiencies by open heart surgery. This operation would have been impossible to realize without the help of the community of MI-DO donors. Marthe's parents are subsistence farmers who must take care of five children. They have contributed all their savings and are extremely happy that, thanks to this common effort, everything went so well for their daughter. Marthe has been able to return home to convalesce.

Wilson would very much like to do like other young adults in Cameroon and contribute financially to his family's subsistence. Since October 2014, however, he suffers from massive health problems and is thus out of work. It started with malaria and fever attacks and continued with very serious breathing problems that brought him to the Shisong Cardiac Centre. There, Dr. Jean-Claude Ambassa diagnosed a mitral insuffiency that can only be corrected surgically.
For the parents, it is already difficult to take care of themselves and their eight children. However, they want to contribute 200.000 CFA (€ 305,00).
July 2015: uWe unfortunately have very sad news to report. Wilson's diseas was already extremly serious when he first came for tests at the Cardiac Centre Shisong. Wilson passed away during the preparation for his operation. RIP
The funds collected for this operation have been allocated to the next ugent case - Marthe, 14 years old.
