As a widow with four children to take care of, Odilia's life was already quite difficult. But for the last few years, she has also experienced unexplained health problems, such as hypertension and swollen legs. In December 2014, she decided to come to Shisong to be examined at the Cardiac Centre. There Dr. Jean-Claude Ambassa identified a heart valve problem that needs to be surgically repaired.

The small amount that Odilia is able to earn goes entirely to her children. She would never be able to raise the full costs of the operation but thinks that she can find 200.000 CFA (€ 305,00).

August 2015: Odilia was sceduled several times for operation but she never came to the Cardiac Centre. We do not know the reason - may be she was too anxious to undergo an open heart surgery. According to the agreement between MI-DO and the Heart Foundation Shisong the donations will be redirected to the next person in need.

Margaret, 25 years old, will be the beneficiary. She is suffering from a mitral valve malformation and she will be operated within August 2015.
