Ransom is 10 years old. Since 05 months he started suffering from a persistent cough, fatigue and abdominal pain. His mother brought him to Nkambe district hospital where he was admitted for 10 days and treated. The doctor suspected a heart problem and referred the child to Shisong Cardiac Center for more investigation. Dr. Cabral consulted; an Echo Test was done and the child is discovered with a Severe Mitral Valve Regurgitation which requires an urgent intervention. 

As a farmer whose husband is retired and catering for a family of 03 children, it is really challenging for Ransom to undergo for the surgical intervention because of the financial situation of the family. However, they said that they have been able to raise the sum of 1.000.000 FCFA (€ 1527,00). 

Ransom will be scheduled for the operation as soon as the financial aspect is resolved. Ransom can be operated approximately between December 2013 and March 2014.

News: Due to the deteriorating health status of Ransom the surgical intervention had to be anteponed, irrespective of the actual recruitment of financial recourses. The surgical intervention was performed in early 2014. To cover the remaining debts the fundraising continues until 100% are reached. Therafter a final report will be sent to all benefactors.
