Back home with her children!
At the end of May 2026, the time had finally come. Naswatu was strong enough to undergo the necessary heart surgery. Dr. Charles Mve Mvondo and his team successfully operated on Naswatu. She was able to return home fully recovered. Naswatu lives very close to the Shisong Cardiac Center, where she will go for monthly checkups.
Naswatu will soon be able to lead a normal life again and resume her tailoring business. Naswatu and her entire family thank Mrs. Annelies S. for her extraordinary support! BERI WO!
In 2025, Naswatu grew increasingly weak and was no longer able to care for her family as usual. Later, a heart defect, an atrial septal defect, was diagnosed. Initially, Naswatu received medication, and in May 2026, she was well enough to be admitted to the General Hospital in Yaoundé for heart surgery.
Naswatu's life has been incredibly difficult. After the diagnosis, her husband left her. Since then, she has been living with her two children at her widowed mother's house. As a seamstress, she simply cannot earn enough to cover the costs of treatment and surgery. Friends and extended family have covered the cost of her medication. The surgery is being funded by mi-do.
