In Cameroon, the age of majority is 21, which is why you'll find Lakiss's story here on the children's page. Lakiss is very small for her age, and her parents went from clinic to clinic trying to find out what the problem was. Just last year, at Padre Pio Hospital in Douala, she was diagnosed with three heart defects! Surgery is urgently needed.

Lakiss has two siblings. Her twin sister thankfully has no health problems. Her older brother is very committed to Lakiss and has been working to secure financial support. The family was able to contribute €2,290.00, and the mi-do community is covering the rest.
