We originally intended to use the donations to benefit a child. However, Rachael's case is extremely urgent. 

Several years ago, Rachael underwent surgery at a provincial hospital. Parts of her pericardium, which had calcified due to pericarditis, were removed. Her condition did not improve significantly, so Rachael turned to the Cardiac Centre Shisong. It was quickly determined that not all of the calcified parts had been removed and that another operation was absolutely necessary.

Unfortunately, Rachael does not have much support from her family. During her hospital stays, her 14-year-old son usually takes care of her. Rachael receives a small amount of financial assistance from friends and people of good will. We thank the mi-do donation community for their valued contribution!

Update at the end of February 2026: Rachael underwent surgery on 9 February, but there were complications. She had to be reintubated several times and eventually received a tracheostomy. Her condition is now slowly improving, but she must remain in hospital until further notice.
