Final Report:

Surgical intervention delayed: Denise's operation was planned for the early March 2015 visit of the paediatric cardiologists from Milan. However, the surgeons decided that the general condition at that moment was not good enough and that the operation was too risky. They thus decided that Denise should first be treated with medication. If the operation becomes possible at a later date, the Shisong foundation will take care of the cost.

At the same moment, the Cardiac Centre received a patient in need of an emergency operation - 45-year-old Innocent, who suffered of severe mitral insufficiency. Innocent is a Catholic Catechist, his income is extremely limited and he has no family that can help him financially. The funds that had been allocated to Denise's operation were thus used to cure him. The operation and the stay at the Centre went perfectly and Innocent was able to leave the hospital. For Innocent, this operation was a wonderful birthday gift, since he will turn 45 on 28 March.

On this photograph, Innocent is with Br. Boniface of the Social Case Office of the Cardiac Centre. Br. Boniface is the person who communicates to MI-DO all the stories and news about patients. Br.
