Unfortunately Antoinette refused several times to come to the Cardiac Center for the surgical intervention. We do not know the exact reason. May be the idea to undergo an open heart operation made her too anxious. According to the agreement between MI-DO and the Heart Foundation Shisong/Kumbo the donations were transferred to the next person in need. Magunte Schilo Enosch (4 years old) and Princesse Nguime (11 years old) are the beneficiaries. Both of them are suffering from a heart condition that could be resolved by an interventional catheterization.

The operations were successfully done on the 13th of March 2014 and both girls could leave the Cardiac Center in good condition. The costs for the intervention, hospitalisation and drugs are  € 4.549,00 for each girl. € 5.343,65 could be covered by the MI-DO dornor community. The rest, € 3.754,35 will be covered by the Heart Foundation Shisong/Kumbo.

The families of the girls express their heartful thanks to the MI-DO community!

Long time ago Mme Antoinette started developing a persistent cough, fatigue and abdominal pains. She was treated traditionally many times without a good result. Finally she came to Shisong Hospital on the 02/07/2012 where she was admitted for 02 weeks. Dr. Rita suspected a heart problem and contacted the Cardiac Center for expertise and follow-up. Dr. Jean-Claude Ambassa consulted; and Echo test was done and the patient was discovered with a Severe Mitral Valve Regurgitation which requires an urgent surgical intervention.

As a subsistent farmer whose husband is farming also and catering for a family of 07 children, it is really challenging for Antoinette to undergo for the surgical intervention because of the financial situation of the family. However, she said that she has been able to raise the sum of 500.000 FCFA (€ 764,00).

Anoinette will be scheduled for the operation as soon as the financial aspect is resolved. Doris can be operated approximately between December 2013 and March 2014.

Your support for Antoinette’s surgical intervention cost will be highly appreciated.

We look forward to your considerate intervention and thank you in advance.
