Final Report:
Unfortunately, we also have sad news to report. When Prisca came to Shisong for operation in November 2014, the physicians determined that the procedure would be impossible to realize at that time because she was suffering from severe infection. Prisca was thus treated for her infection and to strengthen her immune system. The operation was delayed until February 2015. However, destiny has decided differently. Prisca died shortly before coming to Shisong. RIP
The funds reserved for this operation were used for the next urgent surgical procedure. Odette, aged 49 and mother of seven, was thus able to be treated immediately. On 28 February 2015 Dr. Charles Mvondo and his team were able to repair her ventricular septal defect. Odette has recovered quickly and is now enjoying her new life!

Prisca is 26 years old and lives with her widowed mother and three siblings in Babissi, in North-West Cameroon. Two years ago, during a pregnancy, Prisca became very ill. She experienced severe abdominal pains and heavy coughing, followed by fever and respiratory distress. Prisca's mother brought her to various wards and she was eventually transferred from Mbingo Hospital to the Cardiac Centre Shisong. There, Dr. Jean-Claude Ambassa diagnosed a severe valvular heart disease and an elevated lung pressure. She needs urgent surgery.
Prisca's mother is a subsistence farmer who takes care alone of her four children since her husband died in 2010. Her income is barely sufficient to feed her family. She will try to raise 100.000 FCFA (€ 152,00) for the operation.
