What a satisfied smile!

The fact that Keziah is doing well is clearly recognizable by her smile. At the end of September 2019 Kaziah has been operated sucessfully by Dr. Charles Mvondo and his team. Fortunately, everything went without complications, the heart defect is resolved, Keziah has recovered well and everyone is happy and satisfied!

All this was made possible by your valued support and the excellent work of the Cardiac Center Outreach team. We are all thankful!

Keziah suffers from a persistent ductus arteriosus (PDA). The connection between the pulmonary artery and the main artery usually closes at birth. Not so with Keziah. Therefore, a surgical correction is necessary. Fortunately, Keziah receives help in the outstation of the Cardiac Center.

Because of the socio-political crisis, Keziah was given in the care of her aunt Seraphine, who lives in a safe place. The family will contribute part of the surgery costs and the mi-do donation community will take care of the rest. Thank you in advance for your valued support!

Cardiac Centre Outreach Yaounde

Due to the socio-political crisis in Cameroon since autumn 2016, work at the Cardiac Center Shisong is significantly impaired. The violence in the SouthWest and NorthWest has been escalating, many streets are impassable and patients can not come safely to the heart center. Likewise, no guest doctors can visit the heart center. Since October 2018, operations had to be canceled.

How to help?

For this reason, a very special rescue mission has been launched - a Cardiac Centre Outreach department has been established in a safe place - in Yaoundè, the capital of Cameroon. Since 21st May 2019 the outreach clilic is operational! Seveneent patients have already been operated upon successfully by the Cardiac Centre team!

This is made possible by the involvement of several organizations. With the help of the MI-DO donation community, we want to support this rescue mission. Therefore we start already with fundraising for the costs of surgery for the third group of patients. The next mission will start on the 23rd of September 2019.

We hope to be able to report here soon about the patient, who will benefit from this program.
