Great joy!

On July 19, 2019 Eloïne was successfully operated on by Dr. Charles Mvondo and his excellent team! The in-patient stay was absolutely uncomplicated and the Cardiac Centre team never missed an opportunity to make Eloïne happy (as you can see on the photo). Eloïne is now back home and looking forward to school.

Grandma Marie and Eloïne would like to thank the Cardiac Centre Team from the bottom of their hearts for the professional and loving care and the mi-do donation community for the generous support!

Eloïne has been examined by Dr. Cabral Tantchou at the Cardiac Center Shisong and he diagnosed a number of heart problems - mitral valve failure, PDA and over-pressure in the lungs. Fortunately, Eloïne can be helped with surgery in the Cardiac Center Outreach.

Eloïne never met her parents. She is in the care of her grandmother from birth. As a widow and housewife, it is impossible for her to pay for surgery costs. The mi-do donation community gladly supports Eloïne!

Cardiac Centre Outreach Yaounde

Due to the socio-political crisis in Cameroon since autumn 2016, work at the Cardiac Center Shisong is significantly impaired. The violence in the SouthWest and NorthWest has been escalating, many streets are impassable and patients can not come safely to the heart center. Likewise, no guest doctors can visit the heart center. Since October 2018, operations had to be canceled.

How to help?

For this reason, a very special rescue mission has been launched - a Cardiac Centre Outreach department will be established in a safe place - in Yaoundè, the capital of Cameroon. Since 21st May 2019 the outreach clilic is operational! Eight patients have been operated upon successfully by the Cardiac Centre team!

This is made possible by the involvement of several organizations. With the help of the MI-DO donation community, we want to support this rescue mission. Therefore we start already with fundraising for the costs of surgery for the second group of patients.

We hope to be able to report here soon about the patient, who will benefit from this program.
