Everything went well!
Together with Marie-Beatrice and her parents, we are happy that the heart surgery went well. A team of guest doctors from Italy has assisted dr. Charles Mvondo during the procedure. Also, the stay in the intensive care unit passed without complications. Marie-Beatrice reacted very well to the treatment. Playing with all sorts of new little toys has made the time in the hospital easier.
The parents of Marie-Beatrice wholeheartedly thank the mi-do community for the generous support and the team of the Cardiac Center for the professional and loving care!
Marie Beatrice is the first child of Elizabeth and Jean. The caesarean delivery was already difficult and five weeks later they had to take their baby daughter to the Chantal Biya Foundation hospital for severe anemia. She received blood transfusions and then she was sent straight to the Cardiac Center Shisong where Dr. Jean-Claude Ambassa discovered a Tetralogy of Fallot. He strongly advised to undergo surgery.
For the young parents, it is very difficult to pay for the operation costs. Elizabeth was about to start studying and Jean has been unemployed for some time. The extended family will be able to contribute 5% of the total cost.
