What a relief!
Alima and her parents are relieved and can be happy again. On November 14, 2017, Dr. Charles Mvondo, assisted by visiting doctors from Milan, has successfully operated Alima on the heart. After the surgery Alima was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit were she responded positively to the treatment. 11 days after she was discharged from the Cardiac Centre, fully recovered, strong and active. The person responsible for mi-do, Andrea Maria, could share the joy about the successful operation with the family.
Words alone can not express how thankful Alima's parents felt for this generous gesture in the life of their daughter. The entire family expresses their sincere thanks to mi-do and prays that God forever blesses the donors for this support.
What a blessing that Alima is at home in Shisong just besides the Cardiac Centre! Alima's family live a modest life style and certainly they could not have gone on a long journey to get medical help for their daughter. Alima underwent a diagnostic cardiac catheterization at the Cardiac Centre Shisong and Dr. Jean-Claude Ambassa has diagnosed her with a large perimembranous ventricular septal defect, which has already led to over-pressure in the lungs. An operation is absolutely necessary.
Alima's parents are subsistence farmers and care for nine children. It is therefore more than understandable that they can not afford a financial contribution to the operation. Br. Boniface, the head of the social case office, therefore asks the MI-DO community for their valued support. Thank you in advance!
