Success story
Branson is very happy - he will be able to go to school! We are glad to report that Branson was successfully operated on 3 February 2017 by Dr. Charles Mvondo and his team. Branson recovered his appetite and with health very quickly. Branson's mother, Mariamou, stayed with her son day and night and is very happy to have him with her at home now.

Branson would have liked to attend primary school in the fall of 2016, but his heart decided otherwise. Doctors already knew about Branson's heart disease, but it is only after a sudden deterioration of his condition that his mother brought him to the Cardiac Center Shisong. There, Dr. Cabral Tantchou concluded that the damages to the mitral and aortic valve were so advanced that Branson had to undergo an urgent operation.
Branson's mother Mairamou, has been abandoned by her husband and must take care alone of her two children. Her income as a smallholder allows her to pay only a very small portion of the operation costs.
