After the operation
The picture shows Renata surrounded by the Tertiary Sisters who came to pray for her recovery. It was the second time that Renata had to face cardiac surgery.
Teams of doctors continue to visit from abroad to help Dr. Charles Mvondo to perform the most complicated operations. Renata's Operation was one of these and it was successfully performed on 16 November 2016 by pediatric heart surgeons from Italy.
We thank especially the Tertiary Sisters of St. Francis from South Tyrol, who made this operation possible through their generous financial contribution!
Renata has a very attentive and determined mother. In August 2016 she noticed that the heart beat of Renata was irregular and that the left chest was swollen. Renata was consulted in the Jabot Hospital Yaoundè and from there she should have been transferred to the Central Hospital in Yaoundè. Renata's mother Brendaline did not hesitate and brought her directly to the Cardiac Centre Shisong for further investigation. There Dr. Jean Claude Ambassa diagnosed a severe mitral valve regurgitation which necessitates an urgent open heart surgery.
Brendaline and Mark, Renata's parents, will contribute with all they have in order to make the life saving operation possible. For the remaining amount the family and Br. Boniface kindly ask the MI-DO community for their generous assistance.
