Replacement
The parents of Natoucha wanted to wait at least a year and only then decide what to do. Everything was ready, but the operation date was not noticed for reasons unknown to us. The accumulated funds have therefore been passed on.
The two-years-old Uziela could thus receive the urgently needed intervention on the heart. In November 2017, a medical team from Milan together with Dr. Charles Mvondo operated Uziela successfully on the heart. Uziela had a congenital heart defect - a Tetralogy of Fallot. During her annual visit to the Cardiac Centre Shisong, Andrea Maria, a mi-do member, met little Uziela and her mother, both happy and full of joy (left). Her room friend and mi-do patient Romeo and his mother are happy too!
Uziela's mother is a housewife and the father is out of work. Nevertheless, they contributed 7% of the total costs and the remainder was donated by the MI-DO donation community. The parents wholeheartedly thank you for this unexpected support to save the live of their little Uziela!
Natoucha was lucky, that the paediatrician from Yaoundè transferred her to the Cardiac Centre Shisong, in order to examine her because of log standing breathing difficulties, high fever and strong cough. Before she Natoucha was treated in a regional hospital against malaria, of course without any success. After further investigation Dr. Cabral Tantchou diagnosed an Atrial Septal Defect type II which requires an urgent open heart surgery.
Christophe und Virginie, Natoucha's parents, will give all their savings to make the operation for their beloved daughter possible. The € 610,00 they can give correspond nearly to an annual salary!
Therefore Brother Boniface,the social case manager of the Cardiac Centre, asked the MI-DO community to contribute to the surgery costs to make the live saving intervention for Natoucha possible. Thank you in advance for your donation!
N.B. The surplus of € 358,00 that has been collected for Noelie will be allocated to natoucha.
The operation is expected to take place in June 2017
