Etienne lives, like many people in rural areas in Camerun, together with his family of 15 in a so called compound. In these areas medical care is rarely sufficient. Thus for many years the heart problems, etienne was suffering from, were never realized. Only recently Etienne has been transferred to the Cardiac Centre shisong for propper treatment. Dr. Cabral Tanchou made a diagnostic cardiac catheterization and discovered a severe aortic valve regurgitation and a mitral valve regurgitation that require an urgent surgical intervention.

Being a farmer Etienne is able to cater for his two wives and 13 children but it is impossible for him to cover the costs for the diagnostic cardiac catheterization and the surgical intervention. Nevertheless, the whole family will stand together and contribute the amount of  € 1.221,00.
